Code of Conduct

How we show up, on every call, every delivery, every order..

Buy Propane Tank holds every member of our team to a written standard of conduct — and we hold our store, our delivery process, and our customers to the same respect in return. This page lays out exactly what that looks like.

The Charter

Six articles. This is the actual standard, not a summary of it.

Each article below covers one part of how we operate. If our team falls short of any of these, we want to know — see "Report a Concern" further down this page.

01
Article I

Staff Professionalism

Every team member who represents Buy Propane Tank — by phone, in writing, or in person — is expected to meet this standard without exception.

Honest answers. If we don't know something, we say so and find out — we don't guess on safety or pricing questions.
Respectful communication. No raised voices, dismissiveness, or talking down to a customer, regardless of how a call starts.
No pressure tactics. We explain options and let you decide. We don't manufacture urgency to push a sale.
Accountability. If we make a mistake on an order, we own it and fix it — not explain why it isn't our fault.

Article II

Delivery & Pickup Conduct

Propane handling carries real risk. Our delivery and pickup team follows a strict standard of behavior on every job, at every property.

On-time, on-window. If we're running late, we call before the window closes, not after.
Property respect. Driveways, gates, and landscaping are treated the way we'd treat our own.
No rushed handoffs. Every delivery includes a visual check with you present before we leave — no dropping a tank and driving off.
Sober & alert, always. Anyone operating a delivery vehicle or handling tanks does so unimpaired, full stop.

Article III

Customer Site Safety

Propane is safe when it's handled correctly. We ask the same care from customers on-site that we hold our own team to.

Clear access. Keep a clear, safe path to tank placement areas for delivery and pickup.
No open flame nearby. Keep ignition sources away from tanks during delivery, exchange, or connection.
Report damage immediately. If a tank looks dented, rusted, or smells of gas after delivery, stop use and call us right away.
Pets and kids clear. Keep animals and children away from the delivery zone while our team is working.

Article IV

Mutual Respect Between Customers and Staff

Most interactions are easy. For the rare ones that aren't, here's where we draw the line — in both directions.

No abusive language toward our team is tolerated, by phone, in writing, or in person — we'll end a call if it turns hostile.
Disagreements get heard. If a customer is frustrated about an order or charge, our team listens first and resolves second.
No discrimination. We serve every customer the same way, regardless of background, and expect the same respect shown to our team.
05
Article V

Acceptable Use of Our Store & Website

This covers how the mypropanetank.com store, reviews, and customer messages are expected to be used by visitors and account holders.

Honest reviews. Share real experiences — fake reviews, for or against us, get removed.
No order or payment fraud. Chargebacks on legitimately fulfilled orders, or use of stolen payment info, result in account suspension.
No scraping or resale abuse. Pricing and inventory data on our site is for personal shopping use, not automated harvesting.

Review & Continuous Accountability

A code is only as good as how often it's checked. Here's how we keep ourselves honest about it.

This page is reviewed annually and updated whenever our delivery process, staff training, or store policies materially change.
Every reported concern is logged and reviewed by management — not filed away and forgotten.
Repeat issues change our process, not just the individual conversation — one complaint is a data point, a pattern is a fix.
How We Enforce This

A code with no consequences isn't a code. Here's what happens when ours is broken.

This applies to our own team first. If a staff or delivery conduct issue is confirmed, here's the process — not a vague promise to "look into it."

1

Concern is logged

Every report is recorded with date, details, and the team member or process involved.

2

Reviewed by management

A manager — not the person involved — reviews the report, typically within 2 business days.

3

Action is taken

Outcomes range from retraining to removal from delivery duty, depending on severity and history.

4

You hear back

If you filed the report, we follow up directly to close the loop — not silence.

Something fell short of this standard?

Tell us directly. Every report goes to management, not a call queue.

Common Questions

Code of conduct, plainly explained.

A few things people usually want to know about how this policy actually works.

Yes. Anyone delivering or picking up on behalf of Buy Propane Tank — employee or contracted driver — is required to follow this same standard before they're assigned routes.

It's logged immediately and reviewed by a manager, typically within two business days. You'll get a direct follow-up call or message with what we found and what we did about it — we don't close the loop silently.

Yes. We review it at least once a year and update it sooner if our delivery process, training, or store policies change in a way that affects it. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the latest version.

No — this page covers conduct and behavior, not order terms. Returns, refunds, and exchanges are covered separately. If you're looking for that policy and can't find it, give us a call and we'll point you to it directly.

You'll be notified with the specific reason. If you believe it was a mistake, call us at (323) 696-7549 and a manager will review the account activity with you directly.

Questions About This Policy

A standard only means something if you can hold us to it..
